چکیده

Although the discovery and characterization of multiple tumor antigens have sparked development many antigen/derived cancer vaccines, are poorly immunogenic thus, lack clinical efficacy. Adjuvants therefore incorporated into vaccine formulations to trigger strong long-lasting immune responses. generally been classified two categories: those that ‘depot’ (e.g. mineral salts such as aluminum hydroxide, emulsions, liposomes) act immunostimulants (Toll Like Receptor agonists, saponins, cytokines). In addition, several novel technologies using vector-based delivery used. Unfortunately, system declines with age, a phenomenon known immunosenescence, this is characterized by functional changes in both innate adaptive cellular immunity systems well lymph node architecture. While functions decline over time, others paradoxically increase. Indeed, aging be associated low level chronic inflammation—inflamm-aging. Given median age diagnosis 66 years immunotherapeutic interventions vaccines currently given combination or after other forms treatments which themselves immune-modulating potential surgery, chemotherapy radiotherapy, choice adjuvants requires careful consideration order achieve maximum response compromised environment. more trials need performed carefully assess how less conventional form adjuvants, exercise, diet psychological care all shown influence responses can improve efficacy vaccines. review, will discussed respect above-mentioned important elements.

An update of adjuvant treatments for localized advanced gastric cancer

Although adjuvant therapy has become the standard of care worldwide for resectable localized gastric cancer, geographic differences exist in standard adjuvant treatments: postoperative chemoradiation in North America, perioperative chemotherapy in Europe, and postoperative chemotherapy in East Asia. Global differences in standard surgical methods or study populations may influence the discrepan...

Assaying the Potency of Influenza Vaccines

The potency of vaccines must be determined to ensure that the appropriate dose is given. The manufacture and assessment of influenza vaccines are complicated by the continuously changing nature of the pathogen, which makes efficacy estimates difficult but also confounds attempts to produce a well-validated, consistent potency assay. Single radial diffusion has been used for decades and provides...

Carbohydrate-based vaccines with a glycolipid adjuvant for breast cancer.

Globo H (GH) is a hexasaccharide specifically overexpressed on a variety of cancer cells and therefore, a good candidate for cancer vaccine development. To identify the optimal carrier and adjuvant combination, we chemically synthesized and linked GH to a carrier protein, including keyhole limpet hemocyanion, diphtheria toxoid cross-reactive material (CRM) 197 (DT), tetanus toxoid, and BSA, and...
